Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape is at long last here. Three years eliminated from their past independent collection Timeless Atake (2020), and following an overwhelming, months-long rollout, Uzi’s third studio collection was delivered on June 30. Reasonable their most bold and flexible full-length work to date, the Philadelphia rapper’s LP contains a modest bunch of tunes that have weighty pop, rock and troublemaker impacts.
Uzi made sure to pay homage to his music idols of all genres, rather than just using his trademark trap music sound, whether it was the System of a Down cover of “CS,” the WWE-inspired interpolation of “The Rising Sun” by CFO$ on “Nakamura,” or the Bring Me The Horizon guest appearance on “Werewolf.” The most charming example on the collection, however, logical came on Pink Tape’s eleventh melody “Unending Design,” highlighting Nicki Minaj.
After collaborating on “Froze” with Meek Mill in 2016 and “The Way Life Goes (Remix)” in 2017, “Endless Fashion” features Uzi and Minaj rapping and collaborating on a beat that samples the melody from “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65 in 1999. Uzi and Minaj’s back-and-forth chorus uses the same flow as the Italian pop band did in the past, essentially using the same instrumental.

Eiffel 65’s masterpiece would receive multiple successful remixes in subsequent years, including Flume’s in 2020. It was certified platinum in Italy and 13 other countries.
